In a sense, is this what we are doing? Are we writing history as we "remember" it?

As people awaken in Pleasantville, they go from black and white to color. The awake people cause more awakenings until everyone is "colored".

What is outside of Pleasantville?

We can only hope. And yet not suppose some simply change to another vibrant hue vs. multi-hued?

Maybe life is a creation of a story writer using a many dimensional text/life editor and all the gaps we see in the history record are there due to a lack of truly infinite resources powering that editor. We see much more detail for the Eiffel Tower (a new SH thread) since for whatever reason the story writer lingers here and fleshes out the story better. We see detailed Eiffel construction photos! Its hard enough to keep the near infinite present moving forward for the writer. We should partially thank the Writer for whatever history is left behind for us to piece together. The present being infinitely smaller than the past naturally preoccupies the writer. The writer could every once in a while become fascinated with what we consider incredibly mundane. We may stumble across some of these detours and find way too much documentation for such trivial happenings. Like 50 years from now in a library finding 20 biographies of Tim Burton instead of just maybe 2.

There are of course many movies and novels with themes like this and maybe the most frequently repeated are signs the writer is OCD and narcissistic. Our impulse to document history could be influenced by the writer while the impulse to interpret it is left to us.
