Feel this deserves its own thread. It intrigued me the moment I saw JWW427 post it here; Single Photo: Lamp post at the Oranienbrucke, Berlin

Turns out it was proposed designed, built betwixt 190 and 1896. No digitised images of the build, no newspaper mentions a couple of websites but in German, naturally, which for some reason google translate has a little difficulty with. However there are a couple o Germans who visit this hallowed place who can do what the algorithm cannot so I'm posting the links and three images in the hopes thy can throw some light on the thing.

First the links; kyffnet.de
kyffnet.de
KYFFHÄUSER/ Thüringen: Berg mit Denkmal und Barbarossaturm --*-- um 1896, Holzstich, 25x17 cm Bildformat von Starcke: - ANTIQUARIAT MURR
Now the pictures with google translate text as the caption, I hope!
Are they all of the same location?

..and today, from the same location ...

I wonder if they destroyed the original ruins while building the monument?
Looks like an historical cover-up.
